Build your skills and understanding with unix-based operating systems. This workshop teach you how to control your computer using the Terminal application. You'll gain the skills common to the everyday programmer which allow you to seamlessly configure and manipulate your computer system.

This workshop is a good start for those interested in becoming good candidates for the Apprentice Training Program and takes place over a 3 day weekend. Training begins at 10 am and end by 3pm. Lunch included.

Unit Description
Unix-based Operating Systems A technical introduction to the file system and desktop environment.
The Command-line Interface Learn how to manipulate the computer from a terminal using the Command Line Interface (CLI). You'll learn common commands to become adept at navigating the file system. Includes: package managers and other basic CLI programs.
System Configuration A deep dive into file system monitoring and environment configuration.
Programming Literacy A high level introduction to reading code and manipulating scripts a programming language for beginners.
